There are lots of privately held IP addresses that serve as wireless gateway if you are trying to connect your routers and home wireless networks. 192.168.1.1 is one such default gateway that are normally used by Linksys broadband routers to set up new routers or updating one. The IP address comes with a username and a password like other private IP addresses so as to protect any unwanted use of your internet connection. How to Login 192.168.1.1:
- Go to your computer or laptops web browser and in the address bar manually type in your IP address, 192.168.1.1 and click Enter.
- You’ll be directed to the login panel. Enter the username and password to login to your router’s admin panel.
- The admin panel has all the settings and options. You can configure and modify the internet settings from here.
- You can also change your username and password from the admin panel to achieve a more secured connection.
Connecting a Linksys Router using IP Address 192.168.1.1:

Troubleshooting Login Related Problems:
Sometimes you may be facing some issues regarding connecting your router. The problems may arise due to one of the following issues.
- The Default IP Address May Not Be Configured Properly: sometimes connection issues may be due to improper configuration of your IP address. Make sure that your IP address is configured properly by logging in to the admin panel and checking the connection settings.
- Incorrect IP Address: Sometimes the connection issues may arise if you enter incorrect IP address. Make sure that your IP address is correct. To solve this issue go to Windows start button and hit on ‘Run’ and in the dialog box enter the command ‘CMD’ and press Enter and then again type ‘ipconfig’ and press Enter. - Rebooting Your Router: You can reboot your router to troubleshoot any issues. Press on your router’s power button for ten seconds to reboot your router. Al though it is not recommended to reboot your router frequently, you can reboot your device every now and then to keep your router working well.
- Upgrade Router Firmware
